BMO building massive urban campus at the Eaton Centre

The Bank of Montreal is building what it describes as a new "urban campus & # 39; for thousands of its employees, in the heart of Toronto's busiest shopping and tourist center.

Located at the south-western corner of Yonge and Dundas Streets, directly opposite Yonge-Dundas Square, the 346,000 square meter complex is being built around the space (or part of the space) previously occupied by Sears at the Eaton Center. was taken over.

BMO Financial Group and Cadillac Fairview are expected to announce the revitalization of commercial property at a press conference just before noon on Thursday, but the interpretations given in advance show that at least part of the office on top of the [Nordrhein-Westfalen] will be located .

The four-story facility is expected in 2021 according to the star, and has a large, naturally lit atrium with collaborative workspaces everywhere.

BMO wo rkers – about 3,500 of them are expected to work out this "hypermodern" space – will have direct access to both the metro system and the PATH from their workplace.

This means that they can theoretically run between the new campus of Eaton Center and the head office of BMO in Toronto on First Canadian Place without ever having to go outside.

Color me jealous of that in December and January.
