The top 10 new restaurant openings in Toronto for February

New restaurants in Toronto may have started in the shortest month of the year, but show signs of a long way to go: a collaboration between Drake and Antonio Park, a new day concept of one of the best Greek restaurants in Toronto, and a completely new place to buy some of the most popular cider made here in the city.

These are my choices for the best restaurants opened in Toronto last month.

Pick 6ix

Another long-awaited project from Drake, order over-the-top omakase nigiri and sashimi meals and cocktails topped with gold leaf in this new restaurant that is just as ballistic as its creator in the financial district.

Agora by Mamakas

This extension of Mamakas Tavern on West Queen West is open all day and serves handmade Greek pastries and coffee. There is also a hot kitchen sink and a grab-and-go fridge filled with house dips.

Gin Mill

There is now another pub in Bloor West Village, where Yellow Griffin used to be, and serving relatively similar pub food as steak. pork tenderloin or grilled chicken sammies, vegan stews and mussels.

Brickworks Ciderhouse

The famous cider is actually made here at this cidery and pub in Riverside. A seasonal brunch, lunch and dinner menu uses local ingredients and combines perfectly with cider.

Rustle & Still

Banh mi and direct trade with Vietnamese Vietnamese coffee and purple sweet potato grains are available in this new, plant-filled café in Koreatown.

Paris Paris

A new project from the guys behind Superpoint, this daily Dundas West bar brings a chef from Chantecler on board for a French-inspired menu with ingredients such as chicken liver, prosciutto and mussels. Also, a lot and a lot of wine.

Open House

There is a hot Nashville chicken counter hidden in this new bar in Bloorcourt that will set your mouth on fire, so thank God they're pouring a large selection of local craft beer

Walrus Pub

pizza's, sandwiches and a wide selection of wine and draft beers can be found in this trendy new pub with a martini bar in the financial district.


This new Restaurant in the King West area where Peruvian food sources are served, ingredients straight from Peru to make a menu with ceviches, anticuchos, skewers and rice dishes.

FK Wine Bar

Frank's Kitchen has moved north from his previous location to St. Clair West, but still makes everything from scratch and now has a huge patio.
