There’s a massive tulip festival in Ontario this spring

Despite a brief return from the winter weather this week, the recent warming trends have focused on the arrival of spring and all the different day trips and trips to begin with.

Of the destinations on the horizon, there is little rival to the [[19449004] Canadian Tulip Festival for his unbridled celebration of the season as a period of rebirth and beauty. Spread over multiple locations, more than one million tulips will be in bloom as part of the festivities.

The event takes place in Ottawa and Gatineau between 11 and 21 May, with different programming in the two cities. The highlight, however, is certainly the display at Commissioners Park in the Dows Lake, where a strip of tulip beds of one kilometer can be explored.

It may not be the best of Holland's world-famous festival, but this is the biggest event of its kind in Canada and it dramatically marks the highlight of spring in Ontario.

In addition to the Park of Commissioners, you can also admire tulip displays at Byward Market, Lansdowne Park, and even tulip-inspired culinary offers at Zibi Gatineau. If there was a time to view the area of Ottawa in the next time, this would be it.

There are several shuttles from downtown Ottawa to the main festival sites, but you can also drive directly to Dows Lake and park nearby for $ 15. From there the choice is yours, or you want to explore alone or during a guided tour.

The countdown until spring has begun.
