Instagram famous New York street artist arrives in Toronto

Instagram's latest street art superstar Libby Schoettle – a strange online phenomenon that could only spawn from New York – Toronto has officially defeated a solo show entitled Art Prison which was launched on Thursday.

Best known as her paper doll alter ego, PhoebeNewYork Libby's collage artwork is instantly recognizable.

With her round head, short bob cut and fashionable one-liners plastered on photocollages of models and iconic females, PhoebeNewYork has received worldwide attention as a feminist artist of sorts.

Although she has been making art for years, Libby's work did not get a grip until she began using wheat that sticks prints of her work to the walls of New York City's streets – "She's Gotta Have It Have "- and the photos on the & # 39; gram.

Since then, she has collaborated with the Soho store of Lululemon and the French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel, played in Teen Vogue and Glamor Italia and reached more than 21,000 followers on Instagram.

You can view Libby's work on Gallery 181 from 12 am to 6 pm, from Wednesdays to Saturdays, until March 31.
