Tech CEO of Mississauga who started from his basement
When Carl Rodrigues, founder and CEO of SOTI, moved from the Far East to Canada at a young age Eleven, he had mixed feelings about his new life, but was excited to discover Canada. His parents had high expectations for their five children, but Carl, always curious, was never very interested in school. As a child, Carl always asked questions. His parents even thought he asked too many questions! He had a great interest in how things worked, by disassembling toys and electronics to understand their inner workings.
While at school in Canada, Carl developed an interest in sports, especially ice hockey, but also in his later academic years, computers, mathematics and technology. These interests led him
to start his young career as a computer consultant, and to build software for different companies. One day in the early 2000s, Carl came home from work and told his wife that he was no longer working. Instead, he went to the basement of his parental home where he began to make software that eventually became the billion-dollar company and the multinational brand that nowadays exists in Mississauga – SOTI. at home. SOTI is well prepared to put Canada on the map as a technical giant and top talent from all over Canada and the whole world to attract the big city of Mississauga.
